Creative Director Ferdinand Wolf says the Air 2S is “a long list of wishes brought to life” Combining the best image quality with new autonomous flight features, the Air 2S is an affordable, portable powerhouse. You can view all of the features and details, straight from DJI.
This is a DJI release.
The DJI Air 2S combines incredible image quality with unparalleled flight performance.
Add Obstacle Sensors, Boosting Autonomous Flight
April 15, 2021.
For the first time ever, DJI has set a new benchmark for high-grade flight performance and incredible imagery with the new DJI Air 2S. This one device is an all-in-one solution, with robust flight performance, a high-end camera, and preprogrammed content creation tools.
“Creators will have the same sense of wonder and possibility when they first experience DJI Air 2S’s unparalleled mix of superb flight capabilities and astounding image quality,” says Ferdinand Wolf, Creative Director at DJI Europe. This DJI Air 2S is a long-term wish list, as it upgrades and enhances DJI’s drone system by increasing the flexibility and capabilities. There is a lot of excitement surrounding this drone for people from different backgrounds.
With the DJI Air 2S, you can capture 20MP still images or video in 5.4K with a sensor that previously was only available on larger, less agile drones. MasterShots continues to enable effortless content creation with the new feature. This advanced feature automates flight path planning while shooting video. During the flight, DJI Air 2S merges the footage together to produce an eye-catching video.
DJI Air 2S has a 31-minute maximum flight time and four-way directional obstacle sensors that warn the pilot when obstacles are approaching. When turned on, the APAS 4.0 autopilot system smoothly maneuvers around obstacles without any user input. Using O3, DJI’s third iteration of OcuSync, users can be sure their connection is stable with this portable, foldable drone. Included in the upgraded FocusTrack feature are ActiveTrack 4.0, Spotlight 2.0, and Point of Interest 3.0.
An All-in-One Tool for Every Content-Capture Need
Use a new sensor with a one-inch sensor, capable of recording 20-megapixel still images, 5.4K video at 30fps or 4K at 60fps and 150Mbps. The sensor is approximately 1″ and has a larger pixel size of 2.4μm, which collects more information and detail for better photos and videos. use a new digital zoom that enables a zoom range of 4X at 4K 30fps, 6X at 2.7K 30fps, 4X at 2.7K 60fps, 6X at 1080P 60fps, and 8X at 1080P 30fps Three-axis mechanical gimbal for professional-level quality and 8 GB of internal storage has been added. Users can choose to record in H264 or H265, and then they have the option of selecting three video color profiles: Normal (8-bit), D-Log (10-bit) or HLG (10-bit).
In addition to the basic options like Timed Photo, AEB, and Panoramas, DJI Air 2S’s SmartPhoto mode takes 20-megapixel photos using advanced scene analysis and deep learning to automatically select the best option, including HDR, Hyperlight, and Scene Recognition. Scene recognition modes integrate several photographs to create a vibrant scene, while Hyperlight is optimized for low-light conditions.
Pre-set modes for professional footage
The DJI Air 2S has the most flight modes and image capture modes programmed for a drone of its size. These options include:
MasterShots: Master shots have never been easier. Activating MasterShots will automatically plan a flight path, select from three different image capture modes, including Proximity, Portrait, and Landscape, and begin recording classic aerial footage. DJI Fly app will generate a unique video, as chosen by the pilot, for sharing with the world.
focus on the stage, and let DJI Air 2S do the hard work for you Launch Point of Interest 3.0, an autonomous flight path around the subject; ActiveTrack 4.0, a tool that seamlessly tracks the subject and keeps it in the frame; or Spotlight 2.0, where the drone movement is controlled by the pilot while it locks the subject into the frame.
DJI’s QuickShot modes include Rocket, Circle, Dronie, Helix, Boomerang, and Asteroid.
Use the Hyperlapse option to speed up the world from the air and in motion. The resolution can be 4K. Higher-resolution content can apply digital stabilization for an added layer of smoothness.
Simplified, hands-on flight control using ultra-portable technology
DJI Air 2S has four high-grade antennas and utilizes the latest version of DJI’s proprietary OcuSync transmission technology, O3, to offer a stable feed at a maximum distance of 12km . A 31-minute flight gives pilots more time to shoot impressive footage, while four-way sensors help minimize the risk of collision. Binocular zooming binocular zoom binocular capability
DJI Air 2S features Advanced Pilot Assistance System (APAS) 4.0, which enables the drone to flawlessly navigate around, under, and over obstacles. While flying at normal speeds, the newer APAS 4.0 offers a wider field of view for detecting objects. If pilots are flying at higher speeds, the newly added upward obstacle sensor plays a critical role in assisting obstacle detection. To avoid injury from nearby ADS-B transponders, the DJI Air 2S features an ADS-B sensor-avoidance system like that found on DJI’s most recent drone models. Other standard DJI Air 2S features include an improved RTH feature, which can return a drone to its launch point if it loses contact with the controller or reaches a critically low battery level, and the GEO 2.0 geofencing system to advise pilots of sensitive locations and keep them away from airports. The latest version of the DJI Fly app includes a wealth of educational information and tutorials for beginners to fly.
DJI Care Refresh is now available for DJI Air 2S, including water damage, collisions, flyaways, etc. DJI Care Refresh offers free additional replacements over the course of one year, with coverage for one accident. The two-year plan replaces three units over two years, with at least two guaranteed flyaway incidents covered (extension durations vary by region).
