It is a beautiful picture with very good lighting :-)

Which is better the moto g stylus or the samsung galaxy note 20 ultra well in this video we're gonna find out hi everyone this is kevin here coming at you with my comparison of the motorola moto g stylus versus the samsung galaxy note 20 ultra now i think this comparison is going to be very interesting because both of these phones do feature styluses but the moto g stylus is a lower end mid-range device whereas the galaxy note 20 ultra is one of the best smartphones out

There when it comes to specs and performance so i'm really curious to know is it worth spending an extra thousand dollars for the note 20 ultra over the moto g stylus but let's analyze both devices to really find out so with the moto g stylus we're getting a 6.4 inch display compared to a 6.9 inch display with the galaxy note 20 ultra now you can see when putting these two phones up next to each other the note 20

Ultra is definitely the larger phone of the two and there definitely are a lot of differences when it comes to the display quality now with the moto g stylus the display here is ips lcd at 1080p we're getting a ppi of 399 a 19 by 9 aspect ratio and an 83.7 screen to body ratio now compared to the note 20 ultra we're getting a dynamic amoled 2x display at 1440p we're getting a ppi of 496. we're getting a 19.3 by 9

Aspect ratio and we're getting a 91.7 percent screen to body ratio so i do have the brightness at 100 percent on both of these devices and you can see that definitely the note 20 ultra is much brighter and another advantage with having that amoled display is that we're going to be getting better colors and better viewing angles as well now with all that said i feel like the display on the moto g stylus is not bad it definitely looks very good in its own way

And certainly looks a lot more like the type of display that i would expect from a phone in this price range another difference between these two phones is that the galaxy note 20 ultra actually has a 120 hertz display so everything on the display is going to be moving at a faster frame rate compared to the moto g stylus which only has a 60 hertz display which actually is pretty common with the majority of devices out there but the point is that 120 hertz is definitely a premium feature

That we do get here with the note 20 ultra now in order to use 120 hertz you do have to put the note 20 ultra on 1080p which would then put it at the same resolution as the moto g stylus now the actual form factors of these two phones are also very different you can see up top here with both phones we do have hole punches for the front facing cameras but the hole is definitely smaller with the note 20 ultra and then with the moto g stylus it is situated off to the upper left now it really comes down to personal

Preference on the placement of the hole punch i actually don't mind the way it is with the moto g stylus but at the same time it's not a deal breaker having it in the center with the note 20 ultra and then at the bottom of both devices you can see that we are getting a thicker bottom bezel with the moto g stylus compared to what we're getting with the note 20 ultra now up top here in those hole punches with the moto g stylus we're getting a

16 megapixel front-facing camera compared to a 10 megapixel front-facing camera with the note 20 ultra now both phones give us 128 gigabytes of internal storage which is especially impressive that we're getting that much storage with the moto g stylus and with both devices we are getting micro sd card expansion now there's no wireless charging with the moto g stylus but we do get wireless charging with the note 20 ultra now with the moto g stylus we have a

Fingerprint sensor on the back but there's no face unlock but with the galaxy note 20 ultra we have an in display fingerprint sensor and we also do have face unlock which is pretty awesome but let's do a demonstration of the fingerprint sensors on both devices right now we'll start here with the moto g stylus very quick and then now the note 20 ultra and very quick as well maybe a little bit faster here with the note 20 ultra in comparison now the camera situations are different

And also similar on both phones but with the moto g stylus we're getting a 48 megapixel main camera we're getting a 16 megapixel ultra wide angle camera but unfortunately the ultra wide camera with the moto g stylus is video only you can not take photos with the ultra wide camera i have no idea why it's definitely a bit of a disappointment especially when other phones in the moto g series do give you the ability to take photos with the ultra wide

And then also we get a 2 megapixel macro camera which most people would consider to be pretty pointless and then with the galaxy note 20 ultra we have a 108 megapixel main camera we have a 12 megapixel ultra wide angle camera that is 120 degrees we have a 12 megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and if you use that 5x optical zoom paired up with the main 108 megapixel camera we do get a 50x hybrid zoom that uses both optical and

Digital which is pretty impressive but with both phones we do get portrait mode with both the rear and front cameras which is always a nice thing to see so one of the cool features of the moto g stylus in video mode at least is that if you do want to take videos with the ultra wide camera you can actually take videos in a horizontal landscape format while actually holding the phone vertically so that is a unique feature and i like that we have that feature

But again i wish that we also had the ability to take photos with that camera but unfortunately we don't and if you do prefer to take video in a more traditional way with the moto g stylus using the main camera you also have that ability as well and that's referred to as standard video so you are able to take regular videos in this format but here's how things look with the main cameras on both devices again one of the perks with the note 20 ultra is that you can switch to the

Ultra wide camera to take photos and videos and then you can see here that we also have the button for the 5x optical zoom which works out pretty well too and then if you really want to go in you can do 50x but in this office here that doesn't really serve much of a purpose and then with the moto g stylus pretty much with the rear camera we just have the one camera here since you can't take photos like i mentioned with the ultra wide but you can go over and select the macro camera

If you want to take very close up pictures and have things be very clear but on the other hand with the note 20 ultra you can kind of do the same thing with the regular camera anyway and get very close up too so i feel like the macro camera with the moto g stylus really doesn't serve much of a purpose besides allowing their marketing department to say that they do have an additional camera but flipping around to the front-facing cameras on both phones here's how things look and then as i mentioned before

We can go over to both devices and select portrait mode to get those nice blurred out backgrounds so another cool thing too with the note 20 ultra is that you actually get live focus video as well so if you want to take video with the blurred out background you can do that here with this phone and you can't do that with too many other devices out there so that's pretty awesome now there are definitely some very big differences between these two phones internally now with the moto g stylus we're getting

Four gigabytes of ram and the qualcomm snapdragon 665 compared to the galaxy note 20 ultra where at least this variant which is the north american model has 12 gigabytes of ram and the qualcomm snapdragon 865 plus now the 865 plus is currently the most powerful qualcomm processor out there and the snapdragon 665 is pretty much a lower mid-range option from the company but it does work pretty well and especially paired up with four gigs

Of ram you're gonna get pretty decent performance with the moto g stylus now if you want the best fastest performance ever pretty much on any smartphone i mean there are some that are apparently better but this is pretty much one of the best out there so if you want maximum performance go for the note 20 ultra so i did do a benchmark test with both phones using geekbench 5 and you can see with the moto g stylus i got a single core score of compared to a single core score of 981

With the galaxy note 20 ultra and then for the multi-core score with the moto g stylus i got 1393 compared to 3266 with the note 20 ultra so without a doubt you can see here that we're getting much better benchmark scores with the note 20 ultra and that's definitely going to translate into better real life performance as well now what i recommend doing is downloading geekbench 5 on your current phone running the test and then comparing the scores on that

Device to these phones to see if the moto g stylus is even an upgrade for you and if it is how much it is an upgrade and i'm sure that the note 20 ultra probably has better scores than pretty much any phone that anyone that's watching this video has now video recording with the moto g stylus maxes out at 4k with the rear camera which is definitely very impressive but with the note 20 ultra we can record video at 8k at up to 24 fps

So definitely a very interesting unique feature there that we're starting to see more and more with flagship phones now i'm not sure how many people in real life really are going to record video at 8k but if you want to you can do it here with the note 20 ultra with the moto g stylus we're getting a beefy 4 000 milliamp hour internal battery and with the note 20 ultra we're getting an even bigger battery at 4 500 milliamp hours now the software on both phones is android 10

And with the moto g stylus we're getting motorola's skin which is actually very similar to stock android and with the galaxy note 20 ultra we're getting android 10 with samsung's one ui 2.0 now with the moto g stylus there's no nfc and with the note 20 ultra we do have nfc and we have samsung pay which i know has a pretty loyal following but now that we've gone over the major specifications of both phones let's take a closer look at the hardware i already talked quite a bit about the

Front panels here on both phones another thing though that i do want to point out is that with the moto g stylus the corners are very curved and with the note 20 ultra the corners are very squared off we also have a slight curve to the display itself with the note 20 ultra whereas we have a flat panel with the moto g stylus now i prefer the squared off corners of the note 20 ultra but i prefer the flatness of the display with the moto g stylus so

If the best of both of those could combine into one phone i would be a very happy person let's put it that way but taking a look at the left side of both devices we have the slot for the micro sd card in sim card with the moto g stylus we have nothing on the left of the note 20 ultra then on the right of both phones both devices do have the volume up and down and the power button then taking a look at the top of both devices they both have a noise canceling microphone but with the note 20 ultra we

Do have the slot for the micro sd card and sim card then on the bottom of both phones they both have a usb c port for charging and data transfer they both have a speaker they both have the microphone and they both have the stylus now with the moto g stylus we do have a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack which we don't get with the note 20 ultra now as far as the styluses go you know we're definitely getting a much more basic stylus with the moto g stylus but here it is

So again nothing too impressive here there's no additional buttons or anything else about it and then also the mechanism to pull the stylus out is as simple as just pulling it out there's no click in click out like we have with the stylo 6 and the various note phones but with the note 20 ultra we can click it out we can click it in so it's definitely a more advanced and more sophisticated stylus setup here but here's the two styluses next to each other so

Definitely much bigger beefier stylus with the note 20 ultra but with the stylus you can draw you're also going to be getting much less latency with the stylus with the note 20 ultra and then of course with both phones you can use the stylus just to navigate around the interface so that's probably my favorite way of using the stylus i don't really draw a whole lot i suppose the stylus does come in handy if you want to sign a signature for

Example but when you're not using the stylus you can easily hide it away and then when you need it it's very easy to access and then you know you can do the same stuff with the moto g stylus it's just not quite as advanced as you'd expect because it is a cheaper phone let's now do a speed test comparison between these two devices so we're gonna start by pulling up the camera apps on both so one two three go and a lot faster there with the note 20 ultra

Let's now go to google chrome on both phones one two three go and way faster here with the note 20 ultra in comparison to the moto g stylus and you can also see in this side by side here how much better the viewing angles are and brightness with the note 20 ultra compared to the moto g stylus let's now go to yahoo.com on both phones one two three go and a lot faster here at the note 20 ultra let's now go to endgadget.com and both

Phones one two three go and way faster here with the note 20 ultra scrolling is pretty smooth on both devices definitely smoother though with the ultra as you'd probably expect let's go to another article here one two three go and again faster with the note 20 ultra so definitely when it comes to day-to-day usage of both phones expect the ultra to definitely be quite a bit faster and again you can see at this angle here now i am using different wallpapers in

Both phones but even at this kind of more obscure angle the note 20 ultra looks really good whereas the moto g stylus doesn't really have the best appearance when it comes to the display but in conclusion which phone is the better choice for you now clearly if you want to save money the moto g stylus is the clear choice but do you want all the extra advanced features with the note 20 ultra and are you willing to pay for it that's

Really what you have to think about now if you've never had a phone with a stylus and you're not really sure how much you're going to be using it i would say start with the moto g stylus and then see if you actually end up using the stylus and if that ends up being like a big part of the way that you use your phone then you can definitely justify then spending more money on the note 20 ultra or maybe even one of the other note phones so i would say start with this and then once you outgrow this phone then move on to something more advanced

Like this but i hope you enjoyed my comparison between the moto g stylus and the samsung galaxy note 20 ultra if you did give it a thumbs up let me know if you have any other requests in the comment section below but this is kevin here and i will see you in the next video
